Thursday, April 5, 2018, 6 – 8 p.m.
Check in: Rotunda Gallery; Lecture: Mary Harris Auditorium
Contracts are not just for the well-established artist or even just for “big” projects. One constant that has tripped up artist after artist are those pesky contracts. We all deal with contracts every day it seems, but wouldn’t it be great to know when you need a contract and what some of those terms mean before you sign a contact?
Join us for this informal pop-up lecture where we’ll debunk a myth or two and help you avoid common pitfalls, so you can focus on making incredible art and not lose your Zen worrying about the contract you just signed.
We can’t promise how many contracts we can cover, but you should leave knowing more than you did about:
- Licensing your art
- Licensing rights to use other’s art
- Contracting to sell your art
- Commissions to create or sell existing art
- Gallery consignment dos and don’ts
- Social media
Join us in the Rotunda Gallery from 6 – 7 p.m. to for check-in and networking. The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in Mary Harris Auditorium.
Admission is free for RMCAD students, and $5 suggested donation for the general public, with all proceeds going to 40 West Arts, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to furthering the arts along West Colfax”
