Here's Where we Begin!
Orientation is an important event that will connect you with key staff members and prepare you for your first week of classes. Learn about the campus culture, discover important resources, and understand what is expected of you as an artist and designer within the RMCAD community.
Campus students are invited to attend our 2024 Fall A Campus Orientation on Friday, August 30, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (MT) with a Virtual Technology + App Training on Thursday, August 28, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (MT). This event is for students taking classes on-ground and should be completed prior to attending the campus orientation.
Can’t make it to our traditional orientation and RMCAD social on Friday, August 30? Attend the early bird option on Saturday, August 24, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (MT) on campus instead. Students attending this session will still need to participate in the Virtual Technology and App Training on Wednesday, August 28.
Online students are invited to attend one of two Virtual Orientations on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. (MT) or Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. (MT).
Prior to attending the campus orientation, all students are required to complete their online orientation, RMCAD Launch. This was sent to you in an email and can be found in the LMS. Please make sure you complete your online orientation to ensure there are no issues logging into your RMCAD accounts, including your email and the LMS.

On-Campus Orientation
The Campus Orientation is for on campus students taking classes on ground. Online students taking classes strictly online do not need to attend the Campus Orientation, but can attend the Virtual Orientation and do need to complete their RMCAD Launch before starting classes.
The 2024 Fall A Orientation will run for approximately 7 hours. Please expect to be on campus for Orientation from 9:00am-4:00pm.
Yes, we strongly encourage you to stay for the duration of the event so that you are fully prepared for your classes.
Orientation is meant for students who will be taking on-campus classes during their time at RMCAD. The program will include presentations from departments with important information, technology training, and an introduction to your first-year courses – all integral pieces to your success at RMCAD.
You will have your photo taken at check in for your student ID. IDs and RTD passes will be available for pick up from the Techbar during the first week of classes. If you plan to utilize your RTD pass to travel to Orientation, please email spectrum@rmcad.edu so that we can accommodate your needs before the event.
Throughout the day you will meet key staff members who will share important resources and tools for you to utilize in your classes and as you complete your degree. You will also have the chance to meet the Student Ambassadors and spend time connecting with your peers as well.
You will receive a copy of your class schedule via email from your Academic Advisor. If you need to make changes to your schedule, the advisors will be on hand during the Academic Advising session to answer your questions.
You will be able to speak with some key staff members during Orientation. If the person you are looking for is not on the schedule, we will make sure you have their contact information so that you can follow up with them via email or phone call during regular business hours.

Virtual Orientation
There will be two options to attend Virtual Orientation for the 2024 Fall A term. One will be on Thursday, August 8, and the other will be Saturday, August 24. Students only need to register for one of these dates! This event is for students taking classes online only.
RSVP above for one of the two Virtual Orientations on Wednesday, August 8, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. -6:15 p.m. (MT) or Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. -11:15 a.m. (MT).
