Join us for one of three projects across Denver on Saturday, September 9th, and lunch on campus!
Each year RMCAD students, staff, and faculty gather together to help with volunteer projects focused on supporting the arts community, animal sanctuaries and rescues, and conservation projects across Denver parks and trails.
This year, our projects will include:
Project: Thrive is a small animal sanctuary that cares for neglected, abused, and abandoned farm animals. On the farm, they help to educate visitors and volunteers, promote positive interaction with animals, and provide advocacy through a healing experience. During this project, you will have the chance to meet all of the animals, learn about the farm, and paint, sketch, or draw their animals. Your artwork will later be collected for an auction that will support the farm and the lives of these animals
Benefits in Action is a community focused organization that connects individuals with important resources, such as SNAP, Medicaid, cash assistance, Social Security, and LEAP. They also support home-bound families by delivering fresh and non-perishable food items to their door. During this project, you will receive an introduction to Benefits in Action and the team, and will receive instructions for assembling their food boxes.
Denver’s park system includes over 250 urban parks, off-street trails, and natural areas. Keeping our parks and public spaces clean is an important role of all community members. During this project, we will be helping Denver Parks and Recreation cleanup the debris at Sloan’s Lake Park just 5 minutes from campus.
