Experiments in Clay showcases works from current RMCAD students, alumni, and faculty featuring a variety of making methods. From wheel thrown vessels, hand built objects, alternate materials incorporated into raw clay and more, this exhibition displays the versatility of ceramics and how each individual utilizes the material to make it their own. The fragility and precarity of precious childhood objects converse with items steeped in history, both intertwining a haunting quality of memory. Traditional vessels are reimagined to expand conversations about the dangers of human curiosity, while functional pieces remind us of the beauty found in small moments of life.
Join artists Anna Valenti, Cassie Riley, Joe Caleron, Halle Warren, and Wren Holzinger for the opening reception of this exhibition on June 30th from 5-7 pm. Work will be on display from June 30th, 2023 – August 11th, 2023.
