RMCAD Faculty

matthew harris

Matthew Harris, MFA

Matt grew up in Wisconsin and currently lives in Denver, CO. Matt received his MFA from the University of Colorado, Boulder and his BFA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. His sculptural artwork often questions the ways in which an individual gains social status. He is more interested in building authentic relationships than collecting accolades.

Matt specializes in objects made with squishy materials. He also has a separate collaborative practice with his friend, Toby. His teaching philosophy is to practice, explore, and personalize. His favorite part about teaching at RMCAD is the small student to teacher ratio. Matt has a habit of taking on large house projects that he really should be hiring professionals for. Matt states that his house is currently still standing.
