Alumni Video Receives 2014 Marcom Platinum Award

Members of the RMCAD Marketing Department have been awarded a 2014 MarCom Platinum Award for their recent alumni feature video spotlighting 2006 graduate Gregory Hayes. The award is the highest honor offered by MarCom Awards—a creative competition for individuals and companies involved in the concept, writing and design of print, visual, audio and web materials and programs.

Created by the collaborative efforts of Kristine Kilbourne (Producer), David Quakenbush (Director) and Joe DeFever (Editor), the team credits the video’s success to Gregory Hayes’ outstanding story and the school’s community at large. “Working at RMCAD provides a rich, creative environment where it’s impossible not to feel inspired and produce stellar work,” says Kristine Kilbourne, Communications Manager. “Our alumni, students, faculty and staff set a high bar and I am grateful to be a part of this community.”

The video features Gregory Hayes, a New York-based artist who has developed a unique painting style through his use of a drip bottle. The technique, originally inspired by RMCAD professor Clark Richert, has taken Hayes years to master. While showcasing Hayes’ visually mesmerizing works, the video also pays tribute to the innovation and work ethic behind the canvas.

The MarCom statuette graces the trophy cases of some of the top business and communication firms around the world, and the marketing team is proud to bring the figure home RMCAD.
