RMCAD Hosts Institute for Design Innovation

RMCAD is pleased to host the Institute for Design Innovation October 24-27, 2013!

The Innovation Studio

Each Spring and Fall, the Innovation Studio brings a group of world-class design educators to Denver, Colorado, for a three-day, intensive learning experience in People Centered Design; Tools and Methods. This problem-solving workshop will open your mind to a new way of thinking about innovation and design.

Our instructors have helped develop many of the design methodologies used by the best design schools and global design firms. At the Innovation Studio, you’ll learn how to use Design Research Methods, Creative Problem Solving and Prototyping from some of the best in the business.

The studio is designed to be interdisciplinary. We welcome participants from business, technology, education, design, science, engineering and beyond, who want to develop and improve innovation in their work and their organizations. Our mission is to help Individuals and organizations create new value through innovation to improves products, services and processes for human beings and ultimately, make a positive difference in the world.

Schedule

At the opening session, a unique Design Innovation problem will be presented and teams will be formed. Our faculty presents methods & tools during the mornings of the first two days and then work as mentors with each team, teaching and guiding them to develop an innovative design solution. At the conclusion on Sunday morning, each team will present their prototyped solution and are be by their mentors. Come prepared to learn, work and play!
